PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING

THANKSGIVING

God of all goodness
we give you praise and thanks
for all the blessings of this life.
We are grateful for the gift of food
and the opportunity we have to
feed others in your name
the blessings of shelter and
the challenge before us
to care for the homeless
the love of family and friends
and your call to love
those who are lost and alone
the fellowship of Christians
and the presence of Christ
in the lives of our
needy brothers and sisters

You have given us so much

Thank you Lord

Lord I have finished my day
I have a heavy heart today
I have seen alot of suffering
especially
I ask you to take all these dear people
that you love so much
back into your heart
so I wont carry the burden home with me
keep them in your care
as I know you will
to free me for the life you have chosen for me
nourish me until the next time
so i may come in tomorrow
refreshed
to serve your suffering ones again
make me realize that my worrying
and fretting about them
does nothing to help them
and can give me unnecessary burdens
that i don’t need to carry
please Lord
help me live my life with joy
protect me from needless worry
and give me peace of heart
for I am so so very thankful to you

Giving Thanks

Great Giver of all good gifts, we offer you back
our talents, our time and all that we possess.
Transform them, along with our lives,
into means of your life-giving freedom for all.

Lord, behold our family here assembled.
We thank you for this place in which we dwell,
for the love that unites us,
for the peace accorded to us this day,
for the hope with which we expect the morrow;
for the health, the work, the food and the bright skies
that make our lives delightful;
for our friends in all parts of the earth. Amen.

O Father of goodness,
We thank you each one
For happiness, healthiness,
Friendship and fun,
For good things we think of
And good things we do,
And all that is beautiful,
Loving and true.
—Prayer from France

Lord, you have given me so much;
I ask for one more thing
a grateful heart.

Gathering our hearts as one let us now reflect on the many things we are thankful for
We are thankful: For the opportunity to come together as community to share this meal;
We are thankful: For all those who work our land to provide us this food;
We are thankful: For the friendships that we have made with one another;
We are thankful: For the many perspectives and cultures we experience here;
We are thankful: For the opportunities to grow and learn that come our way every day.
We are thankful: For the strength and courage within ourselves to make a better life;
We are thankful: for all those who strive to create peace, justice and harmony in our world.

In all things we are thankful:
So tonight, let us all join together and give thanks.

Enjoy your meal.
