Nuclear Age

Lorraine

I am a child of the nuclear age
newspaper bombs on every page
I am a child held captive from afar
fears rising declaration of war
I am a peacefull child yet i cry
put down arms no eye for eye
I am a child saying “give peace a chance”
my cries are silent in the warriors dance
I am a child who follows a prince of peace
a King who wants wars to cease
I am a child whose life is not the same
since I responded to Jesus name
I am a child who is not from this place
that you distroy and lay to waste
I am a child who loves humanity
and pray for peaceful sanity
I await the day when war will end
and brothers and sisters can live as friends
